San Diego is blessed to be home of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO), one of the oldest, largest, and most important centers for ocean and earth science research, education, and public service in the world. Their work helps us understand global issues and enables us to solve the ocean/coastline interface in San Diego County.
Guest Experts:
Falk Fedderson is an Associate Research Oceanographer with the Integrated Oceanography Division of SIO. His area of interest is surf-zone and near-shore physical Oceanography. He has also co-hosted with the Ocean Institute the Surf Science Teen Conferences at SIO for high school students.Ralph Keeling is the current program director of the Scripps CO2 Progr am. He is also a Professor and the Principal Investigator for the Atmospheric Oxygen Research Group at SIO. Keeling's research has focused primarily on atmospheric processes but he has recently turned also to studying oxygen in the ocean.
